What’s in your medicine cabinet? Let’s just say that if you’ve reached a certain age, there’s probably more behind the glass door than a toothbrush and some deodorant. It seems there’s a new pill for most every ailment or dysfunction these days (do you think there’s one that can fix Charlie Sheen?). U.S. pharmacists filled 3.9 billion prescription in 2009—358 million for just the top five medications.
That’s a lot of medications to juggle, schedule and coordinate. What if each of us could just take one pill a day, precisely formulated to fulfill all our unique medical needs? Think of the time and money we could save.
Well if you run a business that collects and stores personal information, you’ve got a similar challenge with data privacy regulations. The number of federal, state and industry regulations that businesses have to deal with is growing apace with the volume of personal data we’re collecting and the frequency of significant breaches we’re suffering.
If you’re a healthcare provider, for instance, you’re almost certainly subject to HIPPA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and HITECH (the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act). If you accept credit card payments you’re well aware of PCI-DSS (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). And depending on the nature of your practice and clientele, you may even have to deal with CFR Title 42 Part 2 and FISMA (the Federal Information Security Management Act).
The standard method for demonstrating compliance with these regulations is to log data access events on the network, then use a variety of regulation-specific add-on modules to your log management system to view and report on the events that are relevant to each different mandate. It’s a hugely labor-intensive undertaking that wastes vast amounts of time and money. And the most frustrating and infuriating thing is that it’s multiply redundantly wasteful.
What if there was a single unified compliance and security monitoring solution for every regulatory mandate on the healthcare industry. Or for your industry?
Well if you’re actually a healthcare provider, you’re in luck, because just last month Novell and CynergisTek announced the Novell SentinelTM Healthcare Solution Pack. My colleague Amie Johnson recently blogged about this solution. It’s a unified solution that lets healthcare organizations manage the requirements of overlapping security monitoring mandates. It eliminates redundancies with predefined controls in the form of reports, correlation rules, and device support, advanced search and reporting capabilities that let healthcare providers create exactly the reports they need for security or compliance audits. It’s an approach to regulatory compliance that’s novel in its comprehensiveness.
In addition to simplifying compliance, this Workload IQ solution has some interesting side-effects: Improved security, lower costs and higher productivity. Now that’s one easy pill to swallow.

I experimented with taking a look at your web site with my cellphone and the page layout does not seem to be right. Might wanna check it out on WAP as well as it seems most mobile phone layouts are not working with your site.
